Foreword
Dear Members of the Bernoulli Society,These are times of hardship and worry for all of us, and I hope that we will survive this without great damage. As more or less expected, we had to postpone our World Congress in Seoul this August, due to travel restrictions worldwide, but also out of responsibility for our speakers and participants, also for all local helpers. Our sympathy is with all of them, and in particular with the local organizing committee, led by Hee-Seok Oh, and all other colleagues who have worked so hard for many years for this important Congress to happen. The Bernoulli-IMS World Congress has been postponed to July 19-23, 2021. The Young Researcher Meeting will also be postponed and happen during July 17-18, 2021.
I am grateful to all colleagues, who have started virtual seminars and workshops. The Bernoulli Society is very happy to help distribute these activities, and you find some examples below, and on our website. In particular, in these times it is important to keep our community in close contact, as by offering some initiatives in particular to young researchers. Please send such announcements to the publicity secretary Leonardo T. Rolla <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.> for processing.Hopefully we all stay healthy and in good spirits!
Claudia Klüppelberg (President of the Bernoulli Society)

Seoul, South Korea
http://www.wc2020.org/
The congress is the latest in a series organized jointly by the Bernoulli Society and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Held every four years, the Congress is a worldwide event covering all branches of statistics and probability. This includes theoretical, methodological, applied and computational statistics and probability, as well as stochastic processes. The latest scientific developments in all of these fields are showcased. It will be held at the Seoul National University.
[POSTPONED] ***40th Finnish Summer School on Probability and Statistics
Lammi, Finland
https://fdnss.fi/40th-finnish-summer-school-on-probability-and-statistics/
The mission of this traditional summer school is to provide one-week intensive courses on active research topics in probability and statistics, lectured by leading scholars in the field. The school is targeted primarily for doctoral students in probability, statistics, and related areas. Advanced MSc students, fresh postdocs and everyone in the research and applied field are also encouraged to apply.
[POSTPONED] ***23rd Conference of the Romanian Society of Probability and Statistics
Timisoara, Romania
http://www.spsr.ase.ro/spsr2020
Since 1991, the annual conference of the Romanian Society of Probability and Statistics brings together academics and students from Romania and abroad to discuss recent developments in research in probability theory and mathematical statistics. This year, the conference will be held at UPT (Politehnica University of Timisoara).
[POSTPONED]***Frontier Probability Days (FPD’20)
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
http://lechen.faculty.unlv.edu/FPD20/
The Frontier Probability Days is a regional workshop, taking place in 2020 at the University of Nevada. Itspurpose is to bring together mathematicians, both regionally and globally, who have an interest in probability and its applications. FPD aims to complement other regional conferences in Probability that are held annually elsewhere in the United States.
[POSTPONED] ***International Symposium on Nonparametric Statistics (ISNPS2020)
Paphos, Cyprus
http://cyprusconferences.org/isnps2020/
The conference will bring forth recent advances and trends in several areas of nonparametric statistics, in order to facilitate the exchange of research ideas, promote collaboration among researchers from all over the world, and contribute to the further development of the field. The program will include plenary talks, special invited talks, invited talks, contributed talks and posters on all areas of nonparametric statistics.
[!]***International Conference on Robust Statistics (ICORS)
July 6 - 10, 2020
Vienna, Austria
http://cstat.tuwien.ac.at/filz/icors2020/
The conference has been an annual international conference since 2001. The aim of the conferences is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in robust statistics, data analysis and related areas. This includes theoretical and applied statisticians as well as data analysts from other fields, and leading experts as well as junior researchers and graduate students. It will be decided on April 20 if the conference can be held as planned.
[!]***XXIV Brazilian School of Probability
July 28 – August 8, 2020
Campinas, Brazil
https://www.ime.unicamp.br/bsp2020/
Because of the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) the XXIV EBP/ São Paulo School of advanced science on singular stochastic partial differential equations and their application that is supposed to take place at Campinas University in the weeks of July 28 to August 8, 2020 may not go ahead as planned. A decision about it will be taken around mid of May. However, at this moment we still do not want to postpone the event to a later date, and to adjust to the new situation we extended the deadline to apply for financial support to the 30th of April.
